Speech Title: Demand Response based Resilience Enhancement of Distribution Systems
Abstract: Service restoration is one of the critical functions to enable the future self-healing distribution system. To restore the distribution system in a timely and reliable manner, the realistic system operating conditions need to be accurately characterized. Actually, the operating behaviors of various loads are deeply coupled with the load restoration process and depend on the outage duration of distribution systems. How to characterize the impacts of the time-dependent behaviors of loads is vital importance to improve the resilience of distribution systems. Meanwhile, flexible loads can also provide demand response services to speed up the load restoration. This report is focused on the latest studies on the impacts of TCL cold load pickup and 5G base station backup batteries on distribution system restoration, demand response based distribution system resilience enhancement and future work of urban distribution system load restoration.
